Day-01: Mandalay Arrival (L/D) (17th Oct 2013)
Arrive at Mandalay International Airport. Welcome by a tour guide and transfer to Hotel. Upon arrival, drive to Amarapura, a former capital of Myanmar.
Our tour starts
· Mahagandayone Monastery- the largest teaching monastery in Myanmar; can see thousands of monks had their last meal quietly.
· U Bein Bridge- the world’s longest wooden bridge, that spans across beautiful Taung Thaman Lake.
Lunch at local restaurant and transfer to hotel.
In the early evening, Mandalay sightseeing starts
· Maharmyatmuni Pagoda - the most ancient Buddha image
· Shwe Nan Daw Kyaung- monastery with incredible woodcarvings
· Kuthodaw Pagoda-known as the world the biggest book, consisting of 729 marble slabs regarding about the entire Pali Canon of Buddhism.
· Mandalay Hill- watch the sunset; panoramic view of the city.
Dinner at a restaurant. Stay Overnight at hotel in Mandalay.
Day-02: Mandalay – Kyaukse – Mandalay (B/L/D) (18th Oct 2013)
After breakfast at hotel, drive to
· Kyak-se Elephant dancing festival, located 42km south of Mandalay to see one of the famous festivals in Myanmar. The occasion take two days and one day before the full moon day of THADINKYUT and on the Full moon day as well, This elephant dance is the festival for the reclining Buddha image in Kyaukse and could be called the activity of the Pagoda Festival.
Lunch at local restaurant and enjoy the festival activities. In the late afternoon, return to Mandalay City. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at hotel in Mandalay.
Day-03: Mandalay –Sagaing - Ava – Mandalay (B/L/D) (19th Oct 2013)
After breakfast at hotel, visit to Sagaing Hill, lies other side of Ayeyarwaddy River crossing by Ava Bridge or Sagaing Bridge. Sagaing Hill is well-known for retreat of 700 monasteries where monks or nuns take meditation or study Dhamma.
Our sightseeing starts
· Kaungmudaw Pagoda- built in AD 1636 by king Thalon to commemorate Ava’s Establishment
· Soon U Ponnya Shin Pagoda- top of Sagaing Hill, built in AD 1312.
· Uminthonze Cave Temple- famous for 30 doors of entry.
Then visit to Ava (Inwa). It was built in AD 1364 by King Thatominphya. It is largest capital in Myanmar History for nearly 400 years. It is four times capital of Myanmar Kingdom.
Our tour starts
· Maha Aungmye Bonzan Monastery (a) Me Nu Oke Kyaung- brick and stucco monastery built by Nanmadaw Me Nu, the chief queen of King Bagyidaw.
· Bagaya Kyaung (a) Bame Kyaung- supported by 267 teak posts in 1834. The largest teak post is 19m in height and 3m in circumference.
· Nanmyint Hmyawzin (Nanmyint Watchover)- remnant of the palace built by King Bagyidaw.
Upon finished your sightseeing, enjoy the drive back to Mandalay and visit to
· Zaycho market, the largest and busiest market in upper Myanmar.
Lunch and Dinner at a restaurant and overnight at hotel in Mandalay.
Day-04: Mandalay Departure (B) (20th Oct 2013)
After breakfast at hotel, transfer to Mandalay International airport for departure.
